Hera earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Santa Clara University. As an undergraduate student, she was awarded a music scholarship and received the Senior Award for Artistry Achievement and graduated cum laude. At SCU, she worked with the department chair, Professor Hans Boepple. Hera continued her studies and earned a Master of Arts degree at San Jose State University, studying with Professor Gwendolyn Mok. While at SJSU, she was awarded a scholarship in a graduate academic program in English writing. Hera has performed frequently during her musical path.
Hera was a music teacher at Stratford School and was a part of the Music Teacher Association of California, serving as a musical evaluator. She also taught at Campbell Christian School. She has been teaching students of all ages and levels for over 10 years. Her students have received high achievement awards and have been selected to play in local honor recitals.
Hera's amiable personality makes music lessons fun for students and they look forward to them each week. They learn in a relaxed atmosphere and strive to perform better. Her individual lessons are always in high demand because her goal is not only to provide students with musical prowess, but also to teach them to persevere, develop courage, and perceive their natural talents and passions that helps build strong foundations in music. Her lessons focus on theory, musical tone, rhythms, technique, note reading, and helping students attain high musicality in their playing. She also prepares students with Certificate of Merit exams. Hera’s love for music continues to shine through her students' achievements.
